Prasobh Ramachandran (born as Prasobh M R on 28 October 1990) is an Indian Playback Singer, Music Producer and Vocal Guru from Kerala. He has sung for Telugu & Tamil film industries and independently produced a solo album “Do Something” , as a social song response to Mullaperiyar Dam conflict in 2011. He was the 3rd Runner-Up of Idea Star Singer telecasted on Asianet in 2008. He is a well-known vocal coach with hundreds of students across the globe to his credit. He has won “Kalaprathibha” title multiple times at the Calicut University zonal competitions.
Prasobh was born in Palakkad, Kerala. He started learning Carnatic Music at the age of 7 from Sri Thakazhy Babu and later continued studies under late Sri Puthuppariyaram Unnikrishnan. He was a regular winner of school level music competitions. In 2013, he graduated from NSS Engineering College, Palakkad in Instrumentation & Control Engineering. Prasobh also worked with IBM for a short sting of 3 years where he realized that he needs to return to his lifetime passion of music and decided to quit his job. In 2016, he married Sruthy Sukumaran who is a malayalam serial and cine actress, currently working with South Indian Bank. They have a daughter named Agni Prasobh.
Prasobh gained huge popularity when he participated in the music reality show Idea Star Singer in 2008 telecasted on Asianet. He was a strong contestant for winning the show and his final position in the show was not well received by the audience who also protested. He also participated in other reality shows and won prizes.
Reality Shows:
Prasobh debuted as a Playback singer in 2014, singing a duet song “Kavvinchina” for the Telugu movie “Eduruleni Alexander” with Chaitra Ambadipudi. He later recorded for Tamil movies Chithirapuram and Biya. He founded the music band “Swasthika” along with his college friends in 2011 and released the solo album “Do Something”, which was an instant hit in online media platforms. The song was also featured at Asianet Comedy Awards Night.
Prasobh is known for his versatile singing and live performance. He has performed at over 300 stages across India and other countries. He has shared stage with prominent musicians like KS Chitra, Mano, Vijay Yesudas, MM Keeravani, P Unnikrishnan, Sujatha, Vani Jayaram, Kavalam Sreekumar, Stephen Devassy, Anne Amie, Jyotsna, Rimi Tomy, etc.
